The winner of the Alpha Female Award will be revealed on the Sony World Photography Awards winners' announcement day on 9th June. The news will coincide with the Photographer of the Year, Open Photographer of the Year, Student Photographer of the Year, Youth Photographer of the Year and Latin America Professional Award.

The Award is connected to Sony Alpha Female Creator-in-Residence Programme, an initiative focusing on creating opportunities for professional photographers, videographers, and filmmakers to help foster a richer, more diverse industry where all creators can build strong voices and bodies of work. Six North American creators – four photographers and two filmmakers – were accepted into the programme. Over a six month period, these creators use their grants, equipment, and mentorships with award-winning Sony Artisans of Imagery to create new work and raise their profiles in the photography and filmmaking industries.
