The World Photography Organisation and Sony Latin America announce the 15 shortlisted photographers in the Latin America Professional Award – a prize new to this year's Sony World Photography Awards to celebrate the dynamic and inspiring photographic work currently created in Latin America. Chosen from the 2020 Professional competition, the aim of the Award is to uncover some of the most interesting photographic chroniclers, interpreters and artists from the region and put their work on a global stage.

With thousands of people across the planet viewing the successful projects, the hope is for these photographers to benefit from publishing deals, gallery representation and international coverage. The winning and shortlisted series will go on show in Burnes Aires, Argentina later this year in an extensive exhibition showcasing Latin American photographers affliaited with the Awards. The winner of the Latin America Professional Award will be announced on 9th June, 2020, on Sony and the World Photography Organisation online platforms. The winner will also receive a range of Sony digital imaging equipment.
