The results are in! 2025 Open competition category winners and shortlist have been reavealed.
"Research suggests that, in terms of technological advances, Japan is roughly 25 years ahead of any other country. For decades, the Japanese have enjoyed access to gadgets and automated services on a scale that’s hard for many of us to imagine. Outside of the country, the media has portrayed Japan as both strange and futuristic - offering up a stereotype that cannot fail to influence foreign visitors.
This series is a visual representation of the moment when imagination and reality clash, expressed through multiple exposures (created in-camera). The bulk of the work was made in Naha and Tokyo, cities that were both extensively rebuilt after the Second World War."
