Hi Cristina. Please introduce yourself and your work to our audience

I am Cristina Coral, I am an artist and the camera is my vision.

Why did you become a photographer?

A few years ago I decided to do something creative. I picked up a camera and I started to explore around and use it.

I understood that a camera could be a fascinating tool for exploring the world around me. And moreover, for exploring myself. I’m still in the process of experimenting and luckily it will never end.

Do you have a photographic philosophy?

My works are often driven by researching beauty and aesthetics. They are strongly influenced by a detailed analysis of the subject and the photographic environment. I think that artistic freedom plays a fundamental role in determining my own style and experimenting is the key.

What inspires you for each shooting?

Everyday life seems to be the best source for me, but also thoughts and memories.

Please tell us a bit more about the image was chosen as the September monthly winner of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards
This picture was taken in an old cinema of the twenties. It is part of a series called 'Alternative Perspective.' Through this project, by altering the perspective, it creates a different one. Space and environment are the real protagonists of this project.

What project is next in your list
Next is my present, which leads me to realize many ideas.
