For the 2021 Sony World Photography Awards Professional competition we’ve introduced the Portfolio category so photographers who don’t have a series where the images are related in subject matter or narrative can still share and be rewarded for their best images.
Submissions entered to the Portfolio category can be a mixture of commissioned and personal work, and be a variety of genres – from fashion editorial to studio shoots to commercial work. Judges will be looking for submissions where the photographer’s technical skills are evident and consistent. Photographers will need to enter between five to 10 images.
To celebrate this new category we’re running an Instagram competition where you can win a Sony RX100 VII camera (RRP £1,200!) plus a free 20-minute portfolio review by World Photography Organisation CEO Scott Gray. Open until 29.10.2020, you can take part by following the steps below. Make sure you read our DO’S and DON’Ts before you enter so your submission is correct.
REMEMBER - THE DO’S AND DON’TS
- If you’ve already entered the Portfolio category just complete steps three and four below.
- If you’ve entered another category in the Professional competition you can still participate in the Professional competition as you can enter all 10 categories (you’ve just got to enter different series).
- Don’t enter a photo project to the Portfolio category. Images in this category should not be related by subject matter or narrative.
- Please note you can only enter the Professional or Open competition. You cannot participate in both competitions.
