Since the Sony World Photography Awards 2022 opened for submissions in June, we've been sharing some of our absolute favourite shots entered into this year's Open competition. At the end of every month we'll be picking our top three standout shots from the past four weeks, giving each lucky entrant a free image bundle to enter more than the standard three images. SECOND PLACE
This is a close-up image of the back of an Ocellated turkey, taken at Artis Zoo, Amsterdam, on July 7th 2021. I had been following this turkey along its cage for about 10 minutes trying to take a photo. The turkey wouldn't sit still so it took me a some time and a couple of tries to get this shot.
