Fading by Mischa Lluch
Fading offers a subjective view of American suburban life, challenging its idealised vision. It explores the loneliness and disconnection that arise when the promise of prosperity proves to be a mirage, delving into the emotional landscape of broken dreams and inviting introspection. Shaped by the photographer’s background in cinema, where atmosphere is key to storytelling, Fading uses mood and visual language to uncover material, emotional and existential layers within suburban scenes. Set in San Francisco’s South Bay, the project blurs the line between fiction and reality, capturing the fading moments when dreams unravel, creating a dystopian sense of absence.
