2nd place; The (un)Real by Morfi Jiménez Mercado

These images arise from the feelings of fear, nostalgia and uncertainty that arose from the quarantine. Using images from my archive, and asking my friends and parents to take self-portraits, I converted these digital images into 35mm negatives, then projected them onto a canvas that has the appearance of a portable screen. It gives the idea that what we are experiencing is not real – that it is a movie, or a fiction, which uses the city as a backdrop.
