Mexico: Arturo Velázquez, Let us see
While living by myself in Puebla's Northern Sierra, Mexico, my mind wandered the idea of death, abandonment, and wisdom, as I worked closely with elders, and dead fauna of the same region continuously crossed my path. I enjoyed imagining what life meant in a place where man & nature still have a direct influence on each other. Although I knew the place from my childhood, I didn't understand what it was to live in Mecapalapa, Pantepec, Puebla, the place where my family roots lie in.
Exactly one year after I moved in (October 15th, 2018), I had to move out (October 15th, 2019) due to a life-threatening organized crime wave that resulted in people tortured, murdered, and some family members leaving town.
With time, I couldn't help to identify myself with the elders and dead animals. Will I reach the last stage of life? If so, under what circumstances?
