Mark George

Mark George (Chair) was born in 1953 to a Scottish mother and an Armenian father and was bought up in Chelsea, London. He was schooled in London and Switzerland.
He studied furniture design at the London College of Furniture, but a chance meeting with an out of work photographer set George on a new career path. After leaving college at the end of 1978 he set up as a photographers’ agent and has remained in the business ever since. George represents some of Britain’s most respected photographers including Don McCullin (with whom he has worked for 27 years), and the two great, late photographers Terence Donovan and Richard Avedon. Always keen to nurture new talent, George has recently taken on two brilliant up-and-coming photographers, Huw Morris and Clive Booth.
Besides his passion for photography, George is a collector of Bentley motor cars, vintage motorbikes and guitars. His other company, Bikes on Film, supplies classic bikes to the film and photography industries. He is married with three daughters, and plays the Great Highland Bagpipe…
