Hi Nick. Firstly, why photography? What does the medium mean to you?
I guess I have been a visual person my whole life. My dad was into photography, so it was easy to get into it. I love looking back in time. I only realized this later in my career, but I found myself going back through old images and loved the emotion it evoked. My work isn’t all about memories, but it is those images that mean the most to me.
Do you have a photographic philosophy?
Not really, I guess its just about producing the best images I can.
Where is your favourite place to shoot and why?
Definitely outdoors and preferably somewhere off the beaten track.
Tell us about your most memorable shoot
I was given the opportunity to a shoot a 400km non-stop foot race through the Gobi Desert in China. It was a 7-day race through the amazing remote wilderness where we experienced all seasons and emotions with a healthy dose of adventure. I was lucky enough to share the experience with 2 friends who were filming the race.
What inspires you?
Beautiful places, pictures, music, and other talented photographers.
