Matthew Baum is a photographer and educator based in Napa Valley, California. He earned a BA in American history from Brown University, studied architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Matthew has been on faculty at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and is currently teaching at the University of California - Davis. He was co-founder and director of the VisuaLife photography education program, working with underprivileged youth in NYC. In addition to his personal work, Matthew has a commercial photography practice, shooting editorial, architectural and portrait assignments in the Bay Area. His work has been exhibited and featured in publications in the United States and abroad.
