Welcome to the 6th selection of Highlights from the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards.
The reaction to this year's Sony World Photography Awards was incredible... and record-breaking, with the most amount of entries (319,561) in our 11-year history. With the names of all shortlisted and commended photographers now released, each week we will be choosing 10 highlighted images (5 from Open and 5 from Pro) ahead of all the images being displayed at the 2018 Exhibition in London from 20th April - 6th May.

I stopped the car at a turnout after crossing the bridge and flew my drone to capture this image. I included the bridge and the car to give an idea of the scale." - Manish Mamtani

From the series 'Excerpt From The Draftswoman's Portal ' by Llewellyn Berry
"Each image is a layered digital photograph. It represents a larger body of work entitled, The Draftswomam's Portal. Each image is comprised of multiple photographic images initially interpreted from the Alexander Calder sculpture, Two Discs. The initial interpretation had no particular relevance to the subsequent images. It was a series of visual cues that led me to create the narrative that ultimately describes the entire portfolio." - Llewellyn Berry
