Tobias Hägg is a photographer and filmmaker born and based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. He says: "I am passionate about adventure and to explore new places from a unique perspective. I work as a photographer and filmmaker and my work has been published all around the globe. To name a few of my most recent publications it is National Geographic, The Telegrapher & Daily Mail."

Hi Tobias. Tell us about the series of images we featured on Instagram. Do you have a favourite or a most memorable, and why?
The series you featured on Instagram contains all Ocean shots. The Ocean overall is definitely a favourite of mine due the diversity and the fact that there is so much that still is unseen. The favourite of mine in that series is the image called 'Aquachella'. It was the first time I got to see the black beaches of Iceland which has been a dream of mine for a very long time. We had amazing weather by Icelandic measurements and the shot came out just as I wanted it to.
Why photography? What does the medium mean to you?
Why I came to photography I'm still not sure. It's a subject that has been close to me all of my life. I have always been very interested in creating "visuals" in all of it's kind. Everything from Video to Motion Graphics has been my priority as I grew up and all of a sudden I was doing photography and editing images as a hobby. I spent pretty much all of my free time doing something with Video or Photography as a passion and never actually showed my work to anyone. After some time I decided to start showing it to people and people seemed to like my way of expressing myself through my photography. Photography is a way for me to tell a story. It's a way for me to express what I see and how I feel in a way that feels honest to me.
What are the most important elements that go into making great nature or adventure images?
The most important element and actually the only element I see as really important is to be out there and enjoy it. You will have a lot of bad days and a lot of good days but every day is a new experience and you will always learn and appreciate from them.
Where in the world are you, what's next?
I just got back home from Iceland and at the moment I am in Sweden getting ready for a new personal project which will include a lot of new images in a terrain I am usually not shooting in, so I am very excited about that. I am afraid I can't speak too much about it, but hopefully it's worth waiting for.
