Welcome to the Sony World Photography Awards On Screen, a digital showcase of the best images entered to the 2020 competitions. Leading up to our online winners’ announcement on 9 June, we’ll be releasing slideshows, videos and information of finalists and shortlisted photographers.
Check out the schedule below for what we’ll be releasing and when (see On Screen schedule). Embracing all genres, styles and points of view, the imagery you’ll see over the next six weeks highlights the most talented, dedicated and creative photographers successful in this year’s Awards.
Alongside shortlisted and winning photographs from all four competitions (Professional, Open, Student and Youth), we’ll be presenting projects by the Sony Professional and Student Grant recipients plus winning and shortlisted series from the ZEISS Photography Award 2020. Winning images from the Alpha Female Award and the Latin America Professional Award are also on show - both new initiatives for the 2020 Awards.
Sony World Photography Awards has two fundamental purposes: to give a platform to established photographers so they can take the next step in their career and promote undiscovered talent. Our aim is to give photographers that enrich and push the medium forward the global exposure they deserve.
This year’s imagery celebrates what keeps the photographic medium alive: our individual ways of seeing the world, and the talent, dedication and creativity needed to frame it.
