It's been a busy week at the World Photography Organisation: on Tuesday we announced Nadav Kander as this year's Outstanding Contribution to Photography recipient and tickets went on sale for the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House (on show April 18 to May 6). As the exhibition opening and awards ceremony become ever closer, we're celebrating the array of images entered into this year's competition by publishing a collection of images each week up until April 18. Each collection will be chosen by a theme from the revealed shortlists. This week we look at nine astonishing images of our world from above.
