"I Don't Need To Walk To Live" by Patrick Smith
Johnny Quinn, now 40, of Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania had had no ambition to become a professional bodybuilder until 19 years ago, when his life changed dramatically. In 1998, whilst he was working as an auto-mechanic, a nearly fatal motorcycle accident paralysed him, leaving him with no motor function below his chest. Quinn is now 1 of only 23 professional wheelchair bodybuilders globally competing through the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) - the highest level of bodybuilding in the world. As a result, he has travelled worldwide to compete in more than 30 events on the most respected stages as he chases the ultimate high of appearing on the Mr. Olympia stage - the Super Bowl of bodybuilding. Surviving a horrific accident and forming a new identity in the process, he has vowed to himself and others that he will never give up.
