Untitled No.17 from The Ellentree by Rosie Sherwood

“I have chosen to believe impossible is not an absolute. Because if ‘Seeing is Believing’ I have seen enough.” (From short story The Ellentree written by Rosie Sherwood) These photographs are part of a photo story entitled The Ellentree; a narrative constructed
through photography and text. I have created a body of work that explores storytelling and photography’s potential relationship with literature. Central to this narrative is the genre of fantasy and a considering the psyche and inner and outer worlds through
the short stories narrator. It was my aim to create a successfully executed short fantasy story through the combination of photography and text. In the story I tried to use not only the conventions of the fantasy genre but also photographic themes. It is my
belief that through this I was able to highlight photography as an appropriate visual form of storytelling in this case.
