Gary has 3 excellent entries in the competition and I hope one of them wins. This shot is just too sad, I can hardly bear to look at it. The harsh reality of so many people in this world is awful but when it affects little children it is just too cruel.

    Awesome.
The tears of these children may not be counted inside the hump of junk yard in Kathmandu but this picture really speak the pain in their heart.

A fantastic photo - overwhelmingly painful but compelling at the same time. What I wouldn't give to be able to help these two boys - they remind me of my two little ones! Surely someone somewhere will be able to help them?? Gary - I know there's privacy etc. involved but if there was any way I could, through a charity perhaps, sponsor these two boys I would do it like a shot!!!! I would love to know if there are any charities in the vicinity of these two boys who I could go through to help. Helen. London.

    Cries of their souls!...

  • Jason Titton 27/10/2011 17:55

Like Helen, I also want to help. Please can you provide the exact location? My personal e-mail address is jedi@hotmail.co.uk. I have already donated to an orphanage in Kathmandu; however I am compelled to more than just hand over money. I don’t know what your intentions were when taking this picture, but be they good or bad, I am now motivated to affect a positive change in this region.

  • Imagery 21/03/2013 05:37

Gary, you are obviously a fine and very accomplished photographer, yet is there no end to what you would photograph? Despite the incredible conditions of lighting and composition...do you not exercise some degree of ethics or even compassion when deciding on what to photograph? All and everyone is 'NOT' meant to be photographed (exploited) because a camera is in hand or for the critical praise of other photographers. I think with the power and creativity you posses, if you were to offer a link, or organisation to which individuals could support and offer help, to end suffering such as this...your image would take on an entirely different context. I hope this is something you contemplate prior to pressing the shutter again?

And to all of those who sit comfortably. are warm and well fed..I feel hurt and saddened!
These are the lives of 2 innocent souls... Have we become so heartless...that our only focus is what is on the end of our lens? Our the conditions and circumstances of the subjects even relevant? Do we not bare a responsibility? Shouldn't we be held accountable and to a higher standard? It is we who carry the torch of insight for many; ...we are the messengers.

And there were only a few post that offered some degree of assistance. For the viewers that were so 'deeply' moved and saddened...in between the 'bows' for Gary, take just a second and ask for a link or a means to which you can help! I think that would mean so much more than all cyber tears.

Gary, upon reading this, please do send me a link-if you have one-to an organisation that would help children such as this. And much continued success!

    I thank you kindly.
    Imagery.
