  • How do I upload images?

    You can upload images to your image library under the images tab in your member area. At the moment you will need to upload each image individually; we will soon be adding the ability to upload multiple images at once.

  • Is there a limit on the number of images I can upload?

    There is no limit on the number of images you can upload, but there are limits on the number of images that will appear on your profile. As a free basic member, you can publish 20 images in a single gallery. If you upgrade to advanced membership, you can create up to 8 galleries of 20 images each.

  • Are there any restrictions on image file sizes or file types?

    Images must be uploaded in JPEG or TIFF format and be saved in the RGB colour model. The file size must be between 800KB and and 5MB. We will automatically compress and resize images for display on the website.

    If you do need to resize your images and make the file size smaller but do not have suitable software you can also use http://www.resize.it/

  • What are tags?

    Tags are key words or phrases that you can attach to an image to make it easier to find. You can select a combination of tags from a pre-defined list when uploading or editing an image; the number of tags you are able to select is dependent on your subscription package.

  • Can I geotag my images?

    Not yet. It's on our list of features that will be added soon.

  • Can I hide one of my images to stop it appearing on the website?

    Yes. If you don't want an image to be accessible to anyone other than yourself, edit the image and untick 'Visible on site'.

  • How do I edit an image?

    Once you are logged-in, you can edit an image by following the 'Edit Image' link on the image page.

  • How do I delete an image from my account?

    Once you are logged-in, you can delete an image from the images tab in your member area or from the image page itself. Please note that deleting an image is permanent and cannot be undone. If you delete an image by mistake you will need to upload it again.

  • What are galleries?

    Images on WPO are grouped and arranged in galleries. As a member, you are able to create your own galleries, each containing up to 20 images. A single image may appear in more than one gallery. You could, for example, create a gallery to showcase your work in a particular genre, style or location, or to present a portfolio of your best pieces.

  • Why do I have to select a signature image when creating a gallery?

    The signature image is displayed as a thumbnail preview wherever galleries are listed on the website. We recommend that you choose a signature image that best represents the content of the gallery.
