We love to celebrate! Around the world people mark different occasions in a multitude of ways, be it a birthday, wedding, religious festival, political rally, royal ceremony or a sporting occasion.
This year in the UK we celebrate the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee. We want you to capture the spirit of an occasion in your country in one image.
Please note:
- To enter the Student Focus competition, students must submit their image to their tutor who will enter students' images on their behalf.

Prizes
The 10 finalist students, along with each of their tutors representing their institution, will be flown to London in April 2013, where their images will be exhibited at the World Photo London festival. They will also have their images published in the 2013 edition of the annual World Photography Awards book.
At the Festival, students and tutors will participate and attend workshops, talks, portfolio sessions, forums and a final competition, which will decide on the overall university winner. The winner will be announced at the Sony World Photography Awards 2013 gala ceremony in April 2013.
The prize for the winning university consists of over €45,000 worth of Sony photography equipment. Out of this amazing prize collection, each of the 10 finalist students will be given a professional camera, whilst the overall winning institution receiving the remaining equipment and largest portion of this combined prize, provided by Sony, the sponsor.
