In 2011 November, Sony Corporation implemented "Public Viewing in Tanzania," which made a pervasive appeal for prevention of the spread of HIV and AIDS. The program was held in four areas in the United Republic of Tanzania with the cooperation of the Global Fund and the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), the biggest medical non-governmental organization (NGO) in Africa. Utilizing its audio-visual equipment and motion picture like Spider-Man and Karate Kid plus music content, Sony helped attract more than 4,700 people across a total of six sites.
